ELOPEMENTS

When couples get married at our Estate, they essentially rent the entire property for the duration of the long-weekend. The Magnolia House team helps to plan and coordinate the event for you, and will be on the property for the rehearsal dinner and wedding day from event set-up to cleanup. For the rest of the time here, it's your space to enjoy privately with your loved ones.

The experience is not just a wedding day event, it’s a whole wedding weekend that’s loaded with time to connect with family, friends, nature and each other. All of our guests leave with a treasure of memories that feel sacred and so so special.

Weddings

30+ Guests​​

 

Accommodations​

  • A minimum 3-night stay is required for weekend events. 

  • Larger weddings require renting the entire property:

    • Magnolia House + Cottage - 14 Guest​

    • Garden House - 6 Guests 

​

Venue Rental

  • Maximum event size is 80 guests â€‹

  • Event Availability: â€‹April - First Weekend in November​​​​

  • Tables, chairs, flatware, linens, plates, and other event needs will need to be rented through a third-party rental company​

  • Event Spaces

    • Ceremony: Walnut tree lawn

    • Cocktails & Dancing: covered pavillion 

    • Dinner: Outdoor side lawn (tent required through a third-party rental company)

  • Preferred vendor list provided although you may also select your own vendors.

  • Coordination:

    • A hired professional coordinator is required.

    • We have two in-town co-ordinators who know our property and how to manage a successful event here. 

  • Catering: Caterers must provide a COI and meet our venue protocols by signing a catering contract.

  • There will be a contract rental agreement in place.

  • A 50% deposit is required to secure your date

  • Liability insurance is required.

  • 3 Night Weekend Accommodation Fee + Venue Rental:

    • Rental fees range from $6,949.00 + tax (low season) - $11,099.00 + tax (high season)

    • Rental fees are dependent on specific date 

  • ​Wedding Co-ordination Fee: $3,000.00 - $3,250.00

Micro Weddings

What is a micro-wedding? â€‹

It's a wedding with all the formalities, just with a short guest list!

Venue Rental

  • Event Availability: â€‹April - First Weekend in November​​​​

  • We provide dinnerware, tables, and chairs for up to 30 guests:

    • 3 8ft farm tables

    • 30 cross-back wooden chairs

    • White plate-ware (dining plate, salad plate, wine glass, water glass)

    • Classic silverware 

  • Event Spaces

    • Ceremony: Walnut tree lawn

    • Cocktails, Dinner, & Dancing: Covered pavilion ​

Elopements

What is an elopement? ​

We define an elopement as a smaller wedding (up to 20 guests)
that has a simple ceremony with your most important guests gathered around.

Winter Elopement

You, your partner and up to 12 additional guests stay at the Magnolia House and get married indoors overlooking the gardens.

  • Do you have any vendor recommendations for our wedding?
    We have a list of preferred catering vendors that know our property and do great work. We do require a professional day of coordinator for events with over 20 guests. We have 2 amazing in town coordinators we highly recommend who have managed many successful events here at the property. You are permitted to any hire a coordinator of your choice. We're open to other catering teams outside of our recommended list who meet our requirements. Couples will hire their caterer and have a separate contract with said caterer. The caterer you choose must provide Magnolia House with proof of insurance certificate naming the Mag House, LLC as an additional insured. The caterer will bring their own food service and cleanup team to collaborate with your coordination team.
  • Is a permit required for having liquor?
    If you choose to serve liquor a one-time liquor permit is required for all weddings and events on Magnolia House property, per NC law. You will be responsible for applying for and paying the permit fee of $50. This permit must be provided prior to the event.
  • Can we bring our own beer or wine?
    Yes! You can bring your own beer or wine. We do require all events over 20 guests to hire a professional bartending team to serve beverages throughout the event.
  • Are there any rules regarding entertainment?
    There is a noise ordinance in Hot Springs. There are plenty of wonderful bands that we can allow, although bands with very loud drums will not pass the noise ordinance, unfortunately. DJ's are permitted with the consideration of noise levels being taken into account. Any loud music will need to be finished by 10 pm, and afterward, ambient music can remain on, playing softly. Should you decide you'd like to hire a band, you'll need a noise ordinance permit from the town of Hot Springs.
  • What happens if it rains?
    Rain during our peak wedding season does occasionally happen. Rain options include getting married under the pavilion, if needed. Often times, if there is rain, it's usually a quick shower that we can work around!
  • Are their insurance requirements?
    Every couple is required to purchase Wedding Event Liability Insurance through wedsafe.com, which is usually ~$250 for entire weekend event. The Mag House, LLC must be named as an additional insured.
  • Is their a security deposit required?
    Yes! There is a $1,000 property damage security deposit that is due 7 days prior to the wedding event start date. The security deposit will be refunded, providing that there are no damages on, around, or inside the property. There will be more details about this in your contract!
  • What are the booking requirements?
    Aside from getting your necessary permits later on, in order to book your wedding or elopement with Magnolia Estate requires a signed contract, and a 50% deposit. All of the cancellation and refund information will be outlined in your contract, and you can ask questions when you come for a tour, or at booking, as well! The final payment is due 90 days prior to your event.
